ParticipantHi guys,
You understand that the atlantic coast is just a bit too far for me 🙂
Maybe, if you’d do another gathering in the future on the Med coast, I’d consider coming (by car).Tom
(Barcelona)Tom
ParticipantSorry Bill, no idea what that might be. What’s on the underside?
Cheers,
Tom.Tom
ParticipantAnother example of a carpenter’s pencil indication of the hull number on my boat: on the underside of the smaller floor board (the access hatch to the bilge, the one you probably have lifted hundreds of times…) is written:
320 à 322
PLANCHER-DU-CARRÉ
CENTURIONSorry for the bad quality photograph.
Tom.

ParticipantHi Diamba (Jérôme?),
Interesting position of your windlass. Could you add a photo taken from the side? I’d like to know how it all fits in such a small place. What kind of anchor do you have and where is it stored? As you can see from my previous photograph the shank of my anchor almost reaches the anchor locker when it’s stored. I couldn’t fit a windlass there.
Cheers,
Tom.Tom
ParticipantMe too, I’m very interested in the various options others have adopted. I encourage people to post photographs here. At this moment I haven’t got any windlass, but I’m studying possibilities to install one. I’m considering a manual Lofrans Royal to stay independent of any electrical installation. Should be sufficient for the kind of anchoring I’m used to do.
My anchor locker cover would need a complete rebuild as it opens the other way around (with the hinges on the left).Tom.

ParticipantHi Olivier,
I’m pretty sure that is your hull number. Can you tell us which shelf the number is written on, so that other can check theirs?

ParticipantAnother difference is the type of chainplates (cadènes). It is known that up to the year 1972 they were of the stirrup (étrier) type. From 1973 on they were of a single M14 bolt type. On my boat (#320, 1975) the size of the bolt is M16, a size which is also found on the posterior Gladiateur.
It might be interesting to know around what serial number exactly the different types were changed.Best regards,
Tom.
